Who is Inclusion Connection?

Beginning in 2004 as a non-profit with only 8 volunteers, Inclusion Connection had a goal of providing education and social opportunities to their community. Inclusion Connection has since expanded to include the Together We Play program, the Together We Work focus, and an annual Inclusion and Communication conference, held in partnership with the University of Northern Iowa.

What do they do?

Through their support of inclusive work and play, Inclusion Connection assists both children and adults who happen to have a disability to participate in typical recreation and work settings alongside their peers. Inclusion Connection provides opportunities to individuals in need of alternative communication support through education; further enhancing opportunities to live, learn, work and play inclusively in our community.

How do they enhance our community?

Inclusion Connection supports each person's abilities to participate in our community by living, working, and recreation amongst all citizens. Regardless of ability or background, Inclusion Connection provides the opportunity to socialize, work, and participate in community life together, while respecting and valuing others.

Inclusion Connection raises awareness that hiring people with disabilities can make good business sense, while supporting working age adults by being included in our workplaces.

Why is being an inclusive organization important?

Being inclusive promotes the civil rights of all citizens, regardless of ability or background. Being inclusive means building support, building appreciation for unique abilities, maximizing social peace, and enhancing our communities, and our world.
