Give Essential Thanks Contest Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. MEMBERSHIP AT VERIDIAN CREDIT UNION (“VERIDIAN”) IS NOT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN AND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID OUTSIDE OF IOWA, NEBRASKA AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. BY PARTICIPATING, ENTERANTS AGREE TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF VERIDIAN, WHICH ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE SWEEPSTAKES.

1. Start and End Date. All entries must be submitted between 10:00 am CDT on Thursday, May 14, 2020 and 11:59 pm CDT on Monday, May 25, 2020.
2. Eligibility. Open to legal residents of Iowa who are 18 years of age or older and Nebraska who are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry. Not open to Veridian employees, Board of Directors or any of their respective affiliates or immediate family members as a nominator or nominee. Void where prohibited by law.
3. How to Enter. Individuals may enter the Sweepstakes by visiting https://www.veridiancu.org/GiveEssentialThanks and completing the supplied registration form in its entirety. Entrants are required to provide (a) first and last name, (b) current valid email address, (c) city and state of residence, (d) first and last name of nominee, (e) reason for nomination and (f) name of local business. Limit of one entry per email address per contest.
4. Alternate Method of Entry. Individuals may also enter the Sweepstakes by printing the words “Veridian Credit Union Give Essential Thanks Sweepstakes” and their full name, address, contact information, and date on a 3X5 card or postcard and mailing it (1 per envelope) to: Veridian Credit Union Sweepstakes, Attn: Marketing, 1827 Ansborough Avenue., Waterloo, IA 50701. Mail-in entries must be received by Monday, May 25, 2020.
5. Random Drawing. A random drawing will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 to select a total of 100 Sweepstakes winners, 25 per region from all eligible entries. Drawing date is subject to change without notice. Each winner will receive 1 prize. The odds of winning a prize depend on the total number of eligible entries per region. Limit of 1 prize per household.
6. Disclaimer. Veridian assumes no responsibility for entries it is unable to process due to network, hardware, or other technical failures; or any other reason, including but not limited to incomplete, damaged, misdirected, or lost entries by mail or otherwise. If, for any reason, the fairness or integrity of the Sweepstakes becomes compromised, Veridian reserves the right to terminate or modify the Sweepstakes, and to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or the administration of the Sweepstakes.
7. Prizes. Each randomly selected nominee will receive one gift card to a local business. Retail value of the gift card is approximately $50.00. Winners are responsible for paying all taxes, fees, and expenses relating to winning or using the prize.
8. Winner Notification. For the randomly selected winners, Veridian will notify the Nominator by email within one business day of the applicable drawing date. We will ask for the contact information of the Nominee so the gift card can be delivered directly to the Nominee. Failure to respond to the notification within 72 hours, an inability of Veridian to reach the randomly selected nominator, inability to obtain the potential winning nominee’s contact information, or a return of any prize of prize notification as undeliverable may result in forfeiture of the prize. Unclaimed prizes may be disposed of at Veridian’s discretion.
9. Release. Entrants authorize Veridian to use their name, voice, and likeness in promotional material and for advertising, public relations, editorial, and all other permissible purposes worldwide, in any media, in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list without further compensation unless prohibited by law.
10. Limitation of Liability. Veridian is not responsible for any damage or losses of any kind that may be sustained resulting from entering or participation in the Sweepstakes. By entering or participating in this Sweepstakes, the entrant agrees that Veridian, its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, media partners shall not be liable for any loss, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Sweepstakes or resulting from the Sweepstakes’ participation, or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse, of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, privacy or defamation. Veridian is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY RELEVANT LAW, EVERYTHING IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES, INCLUDING THE PRIZE, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11. Dispute Resolution. Except where prohibited, by participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant(s) and Veridian and its agents shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction. Entrant agrees that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Iowa and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. Except where prohibited, by participating in this contest, entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating in this contest but in no event attorneys' fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
