CEO Jean Trainor to Recalibrate

Jean Trainor, Veridian Credit Union’s CEO/Chief Inclusion Officer, has announced plans to recalibrate to her new career working with her son, Nate. Nate is nonverbal and types to communicate, and his career goal is to teach others to type. In Nate’s words, "We free voices so hearts can dream." Jean wants to play a role in working alongside Nate to make that a reality starting in 2015.

Leaving Veridian in sound financial shape
Jean has been with the credit union for 32 years; 25 of those as the credit union’s CEO and Chief Inclusion Officer. Under Jean’s guidance the credit union has grown significantly in the last 25 years. Membership has grown by 333% in those 25 years offering each the opportunity to be part of a financial cooperative committed to "creating successful financial futures." This growth has also created 509 new jobs in Veridian’s field of membership.

No regrets
Jean says "I took the job at the credit union because of the people and it is the people I will miss most." She intends to stay in contact with all of her friends as she moves on to her next career. She says that she keeps friends forever. Her plans include staying in the Cedar Valley.

More time to pursue other passions
Trainor currently volunteers her time and expertise to UnityPoint Health/Allen Health Systems Board as Board Chair, Inclusion Connection Board, TASH Board of Directors, and UNI College of Business Administration Advisory Board among other groups and organizations. She plans to continue her volunteer work making the Cedar Valley a great place to live, work and play.

Jean has long held her vision of inclusion, that of creating work places and communities where everyone is welcomed. She has been instrumental in leading inclusion efforts at Veridian as well as in helping establish the Greater Cedar Valley Diversity and Inclusion Alliance.
