The Nominating Committee is announcing the three candidates it has nominated for the director ballot. Each director candidate is required to receive confirmation yes votes of 50% or more to be elected. The Nominating Committee is also announcing the three candidates it has nominated for the associate director ballot. The associate director candidate who receives the most votes will be elected.
Vote online from March 25 - April 23. You will receive an email on March 25 with voting instructions. If you do not receive the email, please chat online, call 800-235-3228, or stop by a branch to receive your login information.
Nominations from the floor will not be accepted during the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 28.
Director Candidates
Larry Loss – Clive, IA
Larry is seeking reelection to the Board, where he currently serves as Veridian’s Board Treasurer and an Executive Committee member. He brings a 37-year Iowa business career as an executive vice president and chief operating officer, with expertise in strategic planning, operations, financial reporting, information technology, data security, and government relations. Community service is essential to Larry’s life, including board roles in organizations supporting mental health and outdoor recreation. Larry says it has been an honor to serve on Veridian’s Board of Directors and respectfully asks for your vote to continue representing you.
Reed Mick – Clarksville, IA
Reed has served on Veridian’s Board of Directors for three years. He grew up in Waverly and brings nearly two decades of experience in financial services, much of it focused on supporting credit unions, along with valuable industry insights to benefit members. Reed is committed to advancing Veridian’s mission and ensuring responsible governance, stability, and member value. Licensed in the investment and securities industry, he emphasizes sound practices and long-term success. Outside of his professional role, Reed is active in his church, serving on one of its boards, and enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young daughters.
Aubrey Ward – Waukee, IA
Aubrey’s career in the credit union industry started at Veridian more than 20 years ago. Since her time at Veridian, she has worked at credit union service organizations. Now she works for the trade organization for credit unions, America’s Credit Unions. Aubrey is passionate about working with industry leaders and collaborating to discover innovative ideas for credit unions. She is involved with the school Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), serves on Waukee’s board of appeals and helps plan events for local nonprofits. Aubrey feels her experience and passion will help Veridian as it looks to the future.
Associate Director Candidates
Scott Koenigsfeld – Des Moines, IA
Scott is seeking an associate director position on the Veridian Credit Union Board of Directors. He brings experience in governance, business leadership, and community service. Scott has served on the boards of the American Red Cross and Three Rivers Area Mentoring, and has led community blood drives. He owns two businesses, giving him hands-on experience in financial management, strategy, and oversight. Scott also conducts research for Bayer Crop Science in a data‑driven, highly regulated setting. His background prepares him to support Veridian’s mission and long-term success.
Selvedina Samardzic - Waterloo, IA
Selvedina holds Veridian’s mission and values in the highest regard and credits the organization’s coaching and development opportunities for shaping her professional growth. She has served as an associate director for Veridian since 2024 and has contributed time to boards in the community, including the Black Hawk County Gaming Association and the UnityPoint Mental Health Breakfast planning committee. Her dedication has been recognized through the Courier’s Best of the Best Real Estate Agent awards in 2022 and 2024, as well as the Courier’s 20 Under 40 honor. Selvedina remains committed to supporting the growth and well-being of the Cedar Valley.
Joseph Wallace - Cumming, IA
Joseph is committed to serving his community and has a long-standing interest in finance and banking. He has experience on volunteer boards and with credit unions. Joseph began his career as a credit analyst and later became a commercial loan officer. After earning his law degree, he worked in corporate finance at KPMG, then in investment banking and investment advisory roles with Principal Financial and Ameriprise. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in finance and is a licensed attorney. Joseph frequently speaks at business events and provides legal representation to individuals and businesses.
