Community Shred Days set for September
Veridian hosts Community Shred Days in the spring and fall each year to help you protect your identity by safely destroying unwanted, sensitive documents.
The next Community Shred Days are set for September at the following Veridian branches:
From 9 a.m. to noon, On-site Information Destruction will provide on-site shredding services, and Goodwill Industries will collect unwanted computer equipment. While proceeds from recycling or refurbishing the unwanted computer equipment will benefit Goodwill’s job training programs, all shredded paper will be recycled into commercial-grade paper towels, toilet paper and other paper products. The event is free and open to the public, and each individual can bring up to two 25-pound containers of documents to shred.
Secure shred bins will also be available inside six Veridian branches on select dates during regular business hours, including:
Since the credit union's first Community Shred Day in 2009, Veridian has helped approximately 26,000 people shred more than 670,000 pounds of sensitive, unwanted documents. That equates to an estimated 5,000 trees saved.

As a credit union, we’re organized differently than other financials. Veridian is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members. That means all net earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and low-to-no fees. Veridian is also governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by our members. Each member has one vote in the election for our board regardless of how much money that individual has on deposit.
