What is a chargeback and chargeback fee?
A check chargeback occurs when a check that was previously cashed or deposited into a Veridian account is later returned unpaid. This may happen for a variety of reasons, including non-sufficient funds (NSF), a stop-payment order, the account has been closed. When this occurs, the amount of the check is withdrawn from the Veridian account.
Please note that if a check is returned due to NSF, Veridian will attempt to present the check a second time.
If the returned check was used to make a loan payment, a $15 chargeback fee will be assessed.
