Why do I have a negative balance in my share draft account even though I have money in savings?

If your checking account balance is $0 when you use your debit and you have your savings account set up as overdraft protection, the purchase amount will automatically transfer from savings to your checking account. You may see a negative balance while the transfer is processing. As long as sufficient funds are available in savings when the debit transaction posts, your account will not be considered overdrawn with Veridian Credit Union.
