How do I use a digitally issued card?

Add your digitally issued card to your digital wallet on your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch to begin using it right away. You can use it for online and in-app purchases, as well as in stores that accept contactless payments. Simply hold your device near the payment terminal at checkout and follow any prompts on your device to complete the purchase.

Are all cards available for digital issuance?

No. Only eligible debit cards can be digitally issued. Other cards can be mailed to you or issued at any Veridian branch.

Is a digitally issued card a temporary card?

No. A digitally issued card is not a temporary card and has a permanent card number.

Please note that the expiration date and CVV displayed digitally are temporary until you receive and activate your physical card. Once your physical card is activated, the expiration date and CVV will automatically update in your digital wallet. No additional action is required.

Do I need to activate my digitally issued card?

No. Digitally issued cards are active and ready to use immediately.

I requested a digitally issued card, but it isn’t showing in My Cards. What should I do?

Log out of Digital Banking and then log back in. Your card should appear in My Cards after you sign in again.

Can I use my new digitally issued card right away?

Yes. Your new card number is active and ready to use immediately.

What is the difference between a digitally issued card and a card mailed to me?

A digitally issued card is the digital version of your physical debit card, available for you to use right away. You can use it to access your account and make purchases without waiting for your physical card to arrive.

Your physical card will be mailed to you and should arrive within 14 days. It will have the same card number but will include your permanent expiration date and CVV.

Is it safe to use a digitally issued card?

Yes. A digitally issued card is a secure and convenient way to access your debit card information and begin making purchases right away.

Can I get a digitally issued card for the joint owner on my account?

No. Each account owner must access their own digitally issued card through their individual Digital Banking login.

How do I add my card to my digital wallet?

A digital wallet is a secure app on your smartphone, tablet, or smartwatch that stores your payment information, allowing you to make purchases without using a physical debit or credit card.

To add your Veridian card to your digital wallet:

  1. Sign in to Digital Banking.
  2. Select My Cards.
  3. Choose the card you'd like to add.
  4. Select Add to Wallet.
  5. Complete multifactor authentication (MFA) when prompted.
  6. Follow the instructions for your digital wallet provider (Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, or Samsung Wallet®)

Can I use my digitally issued card for online purchases?
