What do I need to do before using my new debit or credit card?
- Activate your new debit or credit card immediately by following the instructions on the card sticker. This will prevent you from trying to use a deactivated card.
- Destroy your old card using a shredder or pair of scissors. Do not throw it away intact.
- If you have automatic payments set up with your previous card, contact those payees and give them your new card information. Merchants who participate in the Visa Account Updater program will automatically receive these updates, but it is still your responsibility to make sure they have your correct account information. Please activate your new card before giving out the updated information.
