Celebrating 90 years of creating successful financial futures
Proudly serving our communities since 1934.
A message from our CEO
In 1934, the United States was navigating the depths of the Great Depression. Many banks were failing or forced to restrict lending in an effort to stay open, leaving millions of Americans without access to the financial tools they needed. That’s the world that seven John Deere employees were living in when they pooled their money, just five dollars each, in Waterloo, Iowa to found what would later become Veridian Credit Union.
The story of Veridian's founding is important because it's still central to who we are and the values that guide us today. Hear more from our President and CEO Renee Christoffer as we celebrate our 90th anniversary.

Join us in celebrating our 90th anniversary:
October 17
Our annual celebration of International Credit Union Day (ICUD) will again send our employees to perform random acts of kindness throughout our communities. This year, we'll incorporate our 90th anniversary by setting a new goal to impact 90 organizations with our acts of kindness, an estimated 30% increase in the number of impacted organizations in 2023.
December 3
On December 3, we'll celebrate a 90th anniversary edition of our annual Veridian Gives Back for Giving Tuesday campaign by increasing our Giving Tuesday donations to $90,000, more than doubling our investment from the $35,000 we donated in 2023. Watch for details in November on how you can nominate your favorite nonprofit for a chance to receive a portion of those donations.
