New Branch Now Open on Logan Avenue in Waterloo

A new Veridian branch is officially open today on Logan Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa, restoring in-person banking on the community's north side. Located at 2304 Logan Ave., the new branch replaces a former branch that was inside the Logan Avenue Hy-Vee store, which closed in June 2024. That closure left a gap in financial services for the surrounding neighborhood. 

"We know that a lack of access to convenient, affordable financial services can create real hardships for people," said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. "When our former Logan Avenue location had to close, we heard from many members how important it was for them to have a convenient branch. We got to work on looking for a nearby location quickly, and now we couldn't be more excited to welcome members back for in-person service in north Waterloo."

The new branch site was announced in October 2024, and construction began the following summer. Today, almost exactly two years after the closure, the new branch offers all the same services members relied on at the previous location with the addition of more space and drive-up access.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 6-10 with refreshments, giveaways and registration opportunities for one-on-one financial empowerment sessions.
