Veridian Opens $100K Grant Program Supporting Local Nonprofits

Veridian is investing $100,000 in nonprofit organizations that help people build long-term financial stability through financial education, employment readiness and/or housing support programs. Applications for the 2026 cycle of our Successful Financial Future Grant program are now open. Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to 20 nonprofit organizations who work to address barriers to financial stability through financial literacy, employment readiness and/or affordable or emergency housing across Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota.

“A successful financial future starts with opportunity,” said Ana Hernandez, Veridian's Financial Empowerment Strategist. “Whether someone is learning to manage their finances, preparing for a new career or working toward stable housing, the right support can make a lasting difference. These grants help organizations that are creating those opportunities every day and empowering people to build greater financial well-being for themselves and their families.”

The grants are part of the Veridian Give Back  program, the credit union's ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and improving financial well-being. 

In total, $100,000 will be distributed in general operating grants. Funding can be used to expand services, launch new programs or strengthen community impact. Qualifying nonprofit organizations serve residents in Veridian’s geographic field of membership, including Iowa and/or in the following Nebraska counties: Cass, Douglas, Lancaster, Sarpy, Saunders, Washington, and/or Minnesota counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Washington and Wright.

Applications are due October 30, and grants will be awarded in December. Veridian’s Successful Financial Future Grants are administered in partnership with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. Details are available at www.veridiancu.org/grants.
