Protect your personal information at Veridian's free Community Shred Day events

Keep your strong financial future on track by safely discarding unwanted, sensitive documents at our free Community Shred Day. Veridian will host three free Community Shred Day events again this September in Iowa and eastern Nebraska, giving community members a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents and help protect themselves from identity theft and fraud.

"Protecting your personal information is an important part of your financial well-being," said Mallory Paeper, Veridian's Manager of Fraud and Disputes. "We host Community Shred Day to give people an easy way to securely dispose of documents they no longer need, helping them take a simple step to protect themselves from fraud." Veridian's Community Shred Day events are free and open to the public.

How to Prepare for Community Shred Day 

• Gather up to two containers of documents weighing no more than 25 pounds each
• Separate material to only shred documents containing personal information - removing newspapers, coupons, etc.
• Place containers in the cargo area of your vehicle

What to Expect at Community Shred Day 

• Expect the first hour of each event to be the busiest
• Stay in your vehicle to keep the line running smoothly
• Event staff will unload documents and place them into shred bins
• Shredded material will be recycled into commercial grade paper towels, toilet paper and other paper products
