ENCAP Gift Match
Veridian will match donations to ENCAP through October up to $10,000.
Veridian is partnering with Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership (ENCAP) to match donations the agency receives through the month of October up to $10,000. The gift match is part of Veridian's disaster response across our field of membership announced in August after a derecho caused significant damage across Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
“ENCAP provides vital support to our neighbors in their greatest time of need, and recent events have created unprecedented demand for their services,” said Matt Hillestad, Veridian’s regional manager. “We hope this match will inspire others to give with us and raise awareness of ENCAP’s need for ongoing support.”
ENCAP is a private, non-profit community action agency that’s been providing social and human services to people facing poverty in Douglas and Sarpy counties since 1965. The agency offers a holistic approach to service delivery, including hunger relief, homelessness prevention, child abuse and neglect prevention, skills development, senior wellbeing initiatives and transportation.
“The people we serve – most of whom have annual incomes at or below the federal poverty threshold – are working hard to find a way back to economic independence” said Aaron Bowen, ENCAP Executive Director. “There is no one-size-fits-all solution to poverty, and the pandemic brought unprecedented challenges for the people we serve. We're grateful for strong partnerships with organizations like Veridian who understand the work it takes to help families move forward from crisis toward long-term stability.”
