Summary

A Mortgage Loan Resolution Representative is responsible for collecting on, and establishing loan workouts for, early-stage (less than 90 days) delinquent mortgage loans. They are also responsible for maintaining compliance requirements for delinquent mortgages.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare delinquent mortgage notices in compliance with all necessary rules and regulations
  • Work with members regarding delinquent mortgages. Review member’s financial situation to evaluate repayment ability, and reason for default..
  • Determine if member qualifies for a loan extension, modification, deferral, short sale, or deed in lieu of foreclosure. Offer financial counseling as needed.
  • Recommend and initiate the appropriate loss mitigation option for the member
  • Order valuations/appraisals, property inspections and run escrow projections to evaluate potential loan workout/loss mitigation options.
  • Prepare loan modification, loan extension, short sale, and deed in lieu approval, closing, and/or decline documents as needed.
  • Upon receipt of executed documents, update core systems to reflect the terms of the loan workout/loss mitigation option.
  • Monitor status of repayment plans, forbearance plans, and loan modification trial plans as needed.
  • Skip-trace accounts according to established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present delinquent real estate reports quarterly, and other related reports as needed.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Resolution Specialist with claims for loss to mortgage insurance carriers.
  • Assist Accounting with set-up and balancing of all expenses related to position duties.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel

Limited travel expected.

Required Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1+ year of experience in debt collection.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Mortgage loss mitigation experience.
