Is Veridian environmentally conscious?Over the last several years, Veridian has been working to implement green initiatives. We've been reducing costs, maximizing efficiencies, and leaving a positive impact on our environment. Here are a few of the things we've been working on:
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified building in Coralville LEED determination is based on the following key environmental impact categories: sustainable sites, energy and atmosphere, indoor environmental quality, water efficiency, materials and resources, and innovation in design.
- Community Shred Day. Veridian hosts free Community Shred Days twice a year. Since Veridian’s first Shred Day in 2009, nearly 20,000 people have shredded 493,000 pounds of documents, saving an estimated 6,161 trees.
- Encouraging green lifestyles for members through products like Home Equity Loans
- Green Certification from the Green Cedar Valley Initiative. This certification is given to businesses taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint, promote green practices, and encourage healthy living.
