Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.  On this day, Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. Attend this free community event to celebrate African American culture.

Main Stage Entertainment:

  • Spoken Word at 1 and 3 p.m.
  • Charism performing at 2 p.m.
  • Funk Daddies from 2-4 p.m.
  • DJ Risquisimo will be providing music throughout

Outdoor activities for children including body painting, double dutch, hopscotch, and more!

Historical displays from the African American Museum of Iowa at 1 and 2 p.m.

Health and Resource Fair in the gym from 1-5 p.m.
