DeLong honored with Volunteer Cooperative Spirit Award
Veridian Credit Union board member Tom DeLong has received the Iowa Credit Union League's Volunteer Cooperative Spirit Award.
The award recognizes individuals who have shown outstanding service, commitment and leadership in the credit union movement.
“Tom has a long history of living the People Helping People credit union philosophy,” said Monte Berg, Veridian president and CEO. “He’s deserving of this recognition, and Veridian is fortunate to have his leadership.”
DeLong has served as a volunteer member of Veridian’s Board of Directors for 26 years in multiple roles, including two years as chair and two years as Treasurer. He’s an active participant in city government as a current City Council member and Park Board volunteer in Dunkerton, Iowa. He also gives his time and talent to John Deere UAW retirees, Awana Club, Faith Baptist Church and more. DeLong was presented with the award during the Iowa Credit Union Convention on September 16-18 in Des Moines, Iowa.
