Veridian announces a call for board candidates
Veridian is seeking candidates to serve on our board of directors. Applications are due January 19, and five candidates will be elected to the board by the credit union’s membership at an Annual Meeting on April 21, 2018.
“The democratic election of a volunteer board is fundamental to the credit union difference,” said Veridian President and CEO Monte Berg. “We’re looking for leaders who share our commitment to the ‘people helping people’ credit union philosophy.”
Veridian is governed by an unpaid, volunteer board, which sets the credit union’s strategic direction and ensures its sound financial condition. Directors serve a three-year term, consisting of monthly meetings and an annual multiple-day planning session. For eligibility, candidates must be a member in good standing and at least 18 years of age, among other requirements.
Applications are available online or by request at firstname.lastname@example.org. Completed applications should be submitted to the same email address or mailed to the address below by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018.

As a credit union, we’re organized differently than other financials. Veridian is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members. That means all net earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and low-to-no fees. Veridian is also governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by our members. Each member has one vote in the election for our board regardless of how much money that individual has on deposit.
