Veridian announces appointment of Ashley Lindley to board of directors.
Veridian is pleased to announce Ashley Lindley has been appointed to our board of directors. A resident of Iowa City, Lindley is a graduate of the University of Iowa and an AmeriCorps alumna. She currently works with nonprofit organizations in eastern Iowa on program management, volunteer coordination, marketing, fundraising and more.
“Ashley’s experience demonstrates a drive to serve others and a proven ability to make strategic decisions on their behalf,” said President and CEO Monte Berg. “I’m confident she’ll be an asset to Veridian’s board and serve our members well.”
Veridian is governed by a board of 15 unpaid, volunteer directors who are elected democratically by its membership. In accordance with credit union bylaws, Veridian’s board approved Lindley’s appointment on October 25 to fill the vacancy created by former Director David Schultz’s resignation in June. Lindley will be eligible for candidacy in Veridian’s next board election in April 2018.

As a credit union, we’re organized differently than other financials. Veridian is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members. That means all net earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and low-to-no fees. Veridian is also governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by our members. Each member has one vote in the election for our board regardless of how much money that individual has on deposit.
