Veridian announces series of student art exhibits across Iowa
Veridian is partnering with 10 Iowa high schools to host public exhibits of student-created art in five Veridian branches. The schools’ art department leaders submitted pieces ranging from oil on canvas to graphic design, jewelry, pottery and more. As many as 130 pieces will be on display in select Veridian branches in Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Waterloo and Waverly for one year.
The school partnerships make up Veridian’s ArtShare program, which launched in Ankeny in 2002 to celebrate the talent and development of local student artists. “It’s our pleasure to recognize these student artists each year,” said Jennifer Roberts, Veridian’s public relations strategist who oversees the program. “ArtShare helps make our branches a more inviting place while giving the artists a broader audience and giving the community a greater appreciation for local talent. Everybody benefits.”
Veridian will host a series of ArtShare Premiere events to unveil each collection. The events are free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

The credit union also offers an ArtShare Scholarship for $2,000 toward tuition for an education leading to a career in the arts. The application deadline is March 31, and inclusion in the exhibit is not a requirement of eligibility.
As a credit union, we’re organized differently than other financials. Veridian is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members. That means all net earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and low-to-no fees. Veridian is also governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by our members. Each member has one vote in the election for our board regardless of how much money that individual has on deposit.
