Elizabeth Caven
Business Consultant, Self-employed – Elizabeth, a Des Moines resident, has served on the board of directors for the last three years and has been a proud member of Veridian for many years. She is married and enjoys spending time with her four children. Elizabeth has owned several small businesses in central Iowa. She whole-heartedly believes in the credit union philosophy of people helping people and would be honored to continue serving Veridian members as a director.
Paul Gengler
Retired, Veridian Credit Union® – Paul, a Waterloo resident, currently serves on the board of directors as the Chair. He worked at Veridian as a Member Service Representative until 1999. Paul also spent time at John Deere as a Machine Operator and Ford® Motor Credit Company, LLC, as a Collection Supervisor and Field Representative. He wants to continue to help exceed members’ expectations and ensure employees are valued. Paul considers it an honor and a privilege to serve our members.
Ginger Shirley
Assembler, John Deere – Ginger, a Waterloo resident, has served on the board of directors for 12 years. She is seeking re-election because she feels serving people is an honor and a privilege. Ginger is compelled to help and educate others. She has worked at John Deere for 15 years and previously worked at Waterloo Industries, Inc., for 24 years. Ginger has served on the Iowa Selective Service Board for seven years and the U.A.W. 838 Union Executive Board for five years. She is also a deaconess at Koinonia Ministries Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Kenneth Bailleu
Accounting Teacher, University of Northern Iowa – Kenneth, a Cedar Falls resident, got his master’s degree and Certified Public Accountant certificate, after serving in the Army during Vietnam. He spent 33 years working as Controller and Vice President in the equipment finance industry. Kenneth will also bring his experience as a Financial Services Accountant to the board of directors. Previously, he served as both the Treasurer and President of a school board in Illinois. Kenneth’s career has taken him all over the United States, and he feels fortunate to live in Iowa now because he can spend time with his grandchildren.
Nick Waters
Senior Retirement Analyst, The Principal® Financial Group – Nick, a Johnston resident, is seeking re-election to the board of directors because he fully believes in the credit union philosophies of people helping people and serving the underserved. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in accounting and economics. Nick has worked at The Principal Financial Group for six years and previously worked for Veridian in the Waterloo and Des Moines markets. In his free time, he volunteers on the Board of Athletics at Saint Francis of Assisi School in West Des Moines.
John Peck
Retired, John Deere – John, a Cedar Falls resident, wants to volunteer his time and talent in a way that uses his education and skills. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration with a finance emphasis. John spent 37 years at John Deere. He developed strong financial and negotiation skills during his 15 years in the Supply Management Department. John has volunteered in a variety of ways, through church councils, youth sports organizations and youth community activities. He has spent many years coaching youth sports, as well as supervising professional staff. John believes the board of directors would be an excellent fit.
Thomas DeLong
Retired, Deere & Company – Tom, a Dunkerton resident, currently serves on the board of directors and has served as a chairman on all of the board committees. He has also been the Chief Financial Officer and board Chair. Tom is a veteran, city councilman, school bus driver and an elder at First Baptist Church. He is a member of the U.A.W. Retirees and the Sportsman Club. Tom received the Good Neighbor Award for Community Volunteer Work from the State of Iowa. Previously, he was a mayor, scoutmaster and the first Eagle Scout in Dunkerton. Tom is committed to Veridian and wishes to remain a part of the credit union team.
Peter Camilli
Director of Clinic Operations, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – Peter, a Waterloo resident, is seeking a seat on the board of directors because he believes in Veridian’s mission and vision for the future. His education and work experience are in the healthcare administration and geography fields. Peter has a graduate degree from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota. He is actively involved in many non-profit organizations. Peter hopes to strengthen Veridian’s tradition of supporting local communities and families in Iowa.
Traci McBee
Public Relations/Media, Wellmark® Blue Cross® Blue Shield® – Traci, an Elkhart resident, has been a Veridian member for 18 years. She believes strongly in the cooperative movement and the credit union way of banking. Traci is eager to be more involved in the leadership and future of Veridian. She is a marketing and public relations professional and has experience leading initiatives focused on strategic planning, community engagement, government reform, brand marketing and disaster preparedness. Traci will offer a fresh perspective and her background will help her make decisions that deliver desirable products to members through innovative channels. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Traci is married and has three children.
