When you register, you will
create a password. While shopping online, with a
merchant
that offers Verified by VISA, you will be asked for this password prior to check out. This helps ensure
that only you are able to use your card to make purchases online. Once you enter your password, and it's
verified, your transaction is complete.
If you're not registered and want to make a purchase from a participating Verified by Visa merchant site,
you will be asked to register at check out. If you choose not to register, you will not be able to make the
purchase.
