College is a wonderful but stressful time in your life. What school should you choose? Will you live in the
dorms? How will you pay for tuition? Although Veridian can't write your term paper, we can help you figure
out how to pay for college.
Veridian has partnered with Iowa Student Loan to offer a Private Student Loan program designed to help
you cover the difference between your federal and state financial aid and the total cost of your
tuition, room and board, and other expenses. This private student loan is designed to supplement — not replace — your federal, state and institutional financial aid. It is available to students attending any eligible college or university provided all other eligibility requirements are met. When you apply for a Veridian Private Student Loan, you can be
approved for a loan up to $10,000 per academic year, with a $40,000 total maximum.
Before applying for your Veridian Private Student Loan, it is important to consider and apply for available
federal and state aid including grants, scholarships and federal student loans. Accepting a private loan before
utilizing other types of aid available may decrease your eligibility for federal and state aid. Contact the
financial aid office at your college to find out what types of financial aid are available to you.
The first step in applying for financial aid, which includes federal student loans, is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA and EZ FAFSA are free forms provided by the U.S. Department of Education that may be completed without professional assistance via paper application or online at www.fafsa.gov. In your award letter from your college, the financial aid office will inform you of your eligibility for federal student loans.
