Credit Score Basics
Your credit score is a number that represents the information in your credit file and shows how likely you are to pay a debt on time. Your credit score is also called your FICO number. Scores range from 300 to 850 and are used to determined how risky it is to do business with you. Typically, the higher your score, the better rate you receive because you're considered less of a credit risk.
