Veridian Credit Union provides free dinner for Thanksgiving

Waterloo, IA - - - Veridian celebrated the holiday by hosting the 27th Annual Mike & Leona Adams Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, November 23, 2009.

The event provided a free dinner for 634 people in need of a hot meal or companionship at the UAW Local 838 in Waterloo. Individuals within Black Hawk County reserved free rides to the dinner, while 333 dinners were delivered to the homes of those who generally receive meals from Meals on Wheels in Waterloo and Cedar Falls.

Veridian and The Retirees of UAW Local 838 co-sponsor the dinner. Other businesses involved are Family Auxiliary #273, Gary’s Catering, Johnson’s Bakery, Anderson-Erickson, University Avenue Hy-Vee®, Myers-Cox Paper Company, Special Occasions, Hobart Sales & Service, The Insider, The Courier, Cedar Valley Hospice and Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging.
