Cedar Rapids, IA
- - - Over 20 pieces of original artwork created by Marion High School students will soon be on display at Veridian
Credit Union's Blairs Ferry branch at 5805 Rockwell Drive NE in Cedar Rapids. To celebrate, Veridian will be hosting an ArtShare Premier
on Monday, October 15 at 5:30 p.m. This free event is open to the public.
The display is part of Veridian's award-winning ArtShare program. ArtShare was developed by Veridian to increase the
awareness of young artists in the community. Artwork that will be on display includes drawings, photography, computer
graphics and pottery.
The two-dimensional art pieces are framed and matted at Kyle's Framing & Gallery in Marion, compliments of Veridian.
The artwork will be returned to the students after it is displayed for six months and replaced with new student artwork.
Pottery and sculptures are displayed in a case in Veridian's lobby.
"Veridian has provided our students an opportunity to exhibit exemplary art work in a professional manner," said Barb
Shultz, Marion High School art teacher. "We feel very fortunate to be involved in the ArtShare program as it adds another
incentive for students to strive to reach higher levels with their art work."
"ArtShare is a great opportunity to recognize student artists in our community by showcasing their talent in our branch,"
said Tina Hogan, Veridian regional manager. "Through ArtShare we hope to strengthen the value of art in our community and
provide encouragement for student artists."
