Waterloo, IA
- - - Veridian Credit Union has set aside $3 million for a special storm loan program. The purpose of this loan is to
assist people who have suffered property loss or damage due to the recent winter storms.
"Many communities throughout the state are struggling after the most recent winter storms, and this is one way we can
help provide some relief," said Jean Trainor, President and CEO of Veridian.
The storm loan interest rate is 8.50% annual percentage rate (APR) fixed. If an individual is willing to make payments
through automatic transfer or payroll deduction, the interest rate is lowered to 8.00% APR fixed.
Borrowers must indicate the specific purpose for the loan when applying. The maximum loan amount is $5,000 per
qualified member, and only one loan per household will be permitted. Individuals may apply for the loan through April 30, 2007,
or until the $3 million is loaned out, whichever occurs first.
