Waterloo, IA
- - - The lobby of Veridian's Ansborough branch could have passed for an art museum Monday, February 2, as more than 200
people attended ArtShare Premier.
An eclectic collection of artwork created by students at Columbus, East and West high schools in Waterloo, ArtShare
Premier unveiled more than 50 pieces of art, adorning the credit union's lobby with paintings, drawings, photography,
jewelry and pottery.
"ArtShare provides a chance for the parents and the community to see art created in the Waterloo high schools,"
said Larry R. Skeries, an art teacher at Columbus . "It gives the students an opportunity to view their artwork framed
and displayed."
Veridian sent the two-dimensional artwork to Heritage Art Gallery for framing and will display them at its Ansborough,
Lafayette and Martin Plaza branches for a year. When the collection is replaced, the framed artwork will be returned to the
students.
