Waterloo, IA - - - Veridian Credit Union will host its Annual ArtShare Premiere on Monday, February 7, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at 1827 Ansborough Avenue in Waterloo. Waterloo high school students from Columbus, East, West, Expo, and Valley Lutheran High School will have the opportunity to share their work with family, friends, and the community at the event. The public is invited to attend the premiere. There is no cost to attend and refreshments will be served.
“The artwork created by these talented artists adds color and interest to our branch. We look forward to displaying their creations each year,” said Jean Trainor, President and CEO of Veridian.
Over 40 pieces of artwork, including paintings, drawings, photography, jewelry, and pottery will be on display in the credit union’s Ansborough branch lobby for one year.
"When the students see their work so beautifully framed and presented in a public venue, it allows them to experience a feeling of pride in their accomplishment and validates them as young artists. When I see students and their families at the premiere, I am moved by what an important moment this is for them and know they will remember it for a lifetime," said Ann Lighter, West High Art Teacher.
Veridian has the two-dimensional artwork professionally framed by Heritage Art Gallery in Waterloo. When the artwork is replaced with new pieces, the framed artwork will be returned to the students.
