Waterloo, IA - - - Veridian Credit Union® and the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA) have created a new process for providing grant funding to eligible non-profit organizations.
 |
The Veridian Credit Union Fund will provide funding to non-profit organizations or government agencies through the Financial Literacy and Inclusive Community Grants. The Veridian Credit Union Fund will also provide funding through Rapid Response Grants.
- Financial Literacy Grant – improves financial literacy among adults and children.
- Inclusive Community Grant – creates communities that are welcoming and inclusive for persons with disabilities, those with modest means or low income and Latino immigrants.
- Rapid Response Grants – helps organizations address unforeseen and unbudgeted needs, as well as respond to urgent issues with time-sensitive solutions.
|
The Veridian Credit Union Fund will utilize an improved format for identifying and supporting grant recipients in 2011. The first step for organizations that are seeking grant funding is to attend one of three Veridian Credit Union Grant Orientation meetings held throughout the state. Attendance at one of the meetings is mandatory in order to be considered for grant funding.
These meetings will provide an overview of the new funding process and program guidelines, including the new Letter of Intent procedure. Information distributed at each session will be the same, so any interested organization or government agency should attend the meeting that best fits its schedule and location.
