Ankeny, Iowa: Veridian Credit Union opened its 26th location, which is its seventh in the Des Moines metro. The new branch opened Tuesday, September 24 within the Prairie Trail Hy-Vee store which opened the same day at 2510 SW State St. in Ankeny.
Six people will work from the 400-square-foot branch. It will be Veridian's second branch to forego the traditional teller line for teller pods, a new trend in branch services. The pods eliminate cash drawers and instead use automated cash recyclers, giving tellers limited access to cash and increasing branch security. Accuracy is also enhanced, since cash transactions are automatically dispensed.
Former Veridian loan officer Ali Hinrichs was recently promoted to supervise the new branch. Hinrichs has been with the credit union for four years and has a degree in Finance & Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a native of Waterloo and currently resides in West Des Moines.
"Veridian's strong partnership with Hy-Vee provides many benefits for our members," said Shelly McGill, Veridian's Central Iowa Regional Manager. "The convenient location and extended hours help us deliver on our service promise." The new branch will be open seven days a week, until 7 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
