Waterloo, IA
- - - “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” It’s a phrase few have forgotten. The words first graced
movie theaters in 1939’s “Gone With the Wind.” Thanks to a classic movie series at Marcus College Square
Theatre in Cedar Falls, the famous tale of Rhett and Scarlett will make another run on the big screen. With
support from Veridian Credit Union, Marcus Theatres has been rerunning nostalgic movies two times per month
since December.
“It’s fun to be a part of something that brings back a piece of American history,” said Shawna Matz, regional
manager for Veridian. “This winter has been especially harsh, and there is no better way to beat the winter blues
than to relive an American classic.”
“Gone With the Wind” will kick off the remaining three months of the Veridian Classic Reels series. The showing
of the film will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, and Wednesday, March 12. On April 8-9, moviegoers can
catch “Chicago,” and on May 6-7, the Iowa favorite, “Field of Dreams” will return to the theater. Previous showings
include “A Christmas Story,” “Seabiscuit,” and “Breakfast At Tiffany’s.”
Admission tickets to all films in the Veridian Classic Reels series are $4.00. For more information about the
series visit the Marcus Theatres web site at www.marcustheatres.com.
