General: As a general policy, Veridian does not automatically collect personal information from users of our Web site. Veridian does collect and store: information on the domain you use to access our Web site, the Internet address of the Web site from which you link to our Web site, and the date and time of when you visit our Web site. This information is used for statistical purposes to measure the number of visitors to our Web site, the route a user travels while within our Web site, and helps us better serve you with improved design and site navigation.
Member-Only Areas: Personal identification (i.e.: account number, password) is collected when a valid credit union member, with an active credit union account(s), has registered to enter the secure Online Banking area of the credit union's Web site. This information enables the credit union to regulate access of this information to those who request such access and are entitled to perform transactions on these account(s).
Categories of Information We Collect: We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other form;
- Information about your transactions with us; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
Veridian Credit Union does not sell or provide any member information to nonaffiliated third parties for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any products or services of those parties. We will disclose information to nonaffiliated third parties, about your account or the transactions you engage, only as permitted by law. We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies with whom we have joint marketing agreements, such as:
- First Community Trust, N.A.
- Members Financial Services offered through CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc.
- Veridian Insurance
Online Forms: Veridian provides several online form resources (i.e.: membership application, loan application, check order) to better serve you. Personal information you provide us, through any online form, is used by Veridian only to process your request for service. All information that passes between Veridian's Web site and your PC is encrypted to protect your privacy.
Email Communication: Personal information transmitted to Veridian may be used by credit union staff to respond to inquiries for service, information, or improve the service the credit union provides. Since email communication may not be secure against interception by unauthorized individuals, you should seek alternatives to email when providing sensitive or personal information. Likewise, the credit union will not transmit sensitive or personal information that can compromise or violate your privacy when communicating via email.
