Call for Candidates
Veridian Credit UnionĀ® believes in the philosophy of "people helping people." If you share this philosophy and would like to make a difference in the community, we invite you to run for election for our Board of Directors.

If you are interested in running for a position on Veridian Credit Union’s Board of Directors, please request a candidate application and information from Kim Fettkether by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, to:

Responsibilities: As a volunteer Director, your duties will include strategic planning and setting the general policy for Veridian, which enables management to carry out day-to-day operations.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a Veridian member in good standing. Applicants should also have a knowledge or willingness to learn about credit unions and business operations, along with a strong desire to serve the credit union movement.

Time commitment: Serving as a Director requires a commitment of approximately 275 hours per year. As a Director, you are required to attend monthly meetings typically held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, special Board meetings up to twice per year, Board workshops held up to four times a year, an annual planning session held at least three days away from the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, and monthly committee meetings. In addition, Directors are encouraged to attend occasional conferences and required to complete self-study courses on credit unions and business topics.

Positions: There are five positions for three-year terms up for election this year.

Election day: Directors will be elected by Veridian members who are in good standing and age 16 or older. The Annual Meeting will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012.
